Liushinkyū is the official name for the dragon ball with six stars and is used to refer to it during the early chapters of Dragon Ball, before it's replaced by simply referring to it as the 'six-star ball'. The naming derives from Chinese and literally means 'six stars'.

The Liushinkyū of Earth was picked up by the grandmother of an elderly woman, who gave it to Bulma as a reward for saving their village from Oolong.
